3DS is designed to be an additional security layer for online credit and debit card transactions. If 3DS is triggered during a payment, customers will be redirected to the Nuri App to complete an extra security step. 3DS helps prevent unauthorized transactions in e-commerce environments.
There are 3 options to authenticate an online payment: 1) Biometrics, 2) mTAN, 3) Security Phrase. Nuri has implemented all three options for maximum security.
How to participate
To activate the 3DS feature, each customer has to successfully pair their mobile device to the Nuri account. Just log into your account via the mobile app and follow “Control” > “General Settings” > “Security” > “Pair mobile device”.
Each holder of a valid and unblocked card automatically participates in the 3D Secure procedure as soon as their device is paired to the account. Enrollment takes place when your Nuri card is activated. A separate registration is not required.
In order to perform an authentication by 3DS via mobileTAN, the card holder has to provide a mobile number to his Nuri Account. The number may be changed at any time by contacting Nuri under email@example.com.
Authentication via 3D Secure
The mobileTAN (mTAN) transmitted via SMS will consist of at least six digits and has to be entered to authenticate the online card transaction. Nuri will provide the SMS for free. For verification purposes, the last digits of your mobile number will be shown on the screen.
For in-app authentication, you will receive a push notification to log into your Nuri account and confirm the online card transaction with biometrics.
In order to authenticate by way of answering a security question, you have to give the right answer to a question only you can answer.
